Our municipal water system has six wells capable of pumping over 950 gallons per minute with an average daily usage of about 1.3 million gallons.

Streets

Altoona's Street Department is responsible for maintaining over 68 miles of roads within the City of Altoona. Maintenance activities provided by the street department include filling potholes, sign maintenance, striping (street lines), street cleaning, crack sealing, curb and gutter repair, road grading, snow plowing, trail maintenance, engineering and construction management, and building and equipment maintenance. The street department also helps manage reconstruction and new street construction projects.
