Concession Operator II

Library Director

Altoona Public Library

The Altoona Public Library in Altoona Wisconsin seeks a well-organized and energetic leader to direct the operations of the library. The library is part of the IFLS Library system and MORE System.

The library serves a city of about 9,000 residents in one of the fastest growing areas in western Wisconsin. Altoona has the attraction of a small town with convenient proximity to the City of Eau Claire and the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Nestled in the scenic beauty of Lake Altoona and the Eau Claire River, the area offers a variety of arts events and outdoor activities for all ages.

Responsibilities: The Library Director reports to a seven-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for the overall management of the library. Essential duties include building and maintaining our collection, managing the library budget, supervising the library staff of twelve people (6.0 FTE's), planning programs, developing community partnerships and promoting the library within the City of Altoona and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for Wisconsin Grade 1 certification. A Library Science Master's Degree is required. Three or more years of library experience is required, library administration experience is desirable. The ideal candidate shall also possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with library staff, the Library Board, the city of Altoona, and community organizations. Knowledge of current library practices, technology and trends is required.

Compensation: $70,000 to $82,000 commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package.

Seasonal Public Works Maintenance

The City of Altoona, WI, population 9,320, invites applications from experienced maintenance workers for seasonal work.  Under the direction of the PW Director, this position is responsible for maintenance and improvements of parks, grounds, facilities, and equipment, as well as project and maintenance work.  Valid WI driver license required; WI CDL Class C preferred. Wage range DOQ: $15.50-$18.00 per hour.
