The City of Altoona, WI, population 9,320, in beautiful Eau Claire County, invites applications from highly motivated aspiring police professionals with a desire to serve the community through assisting the Altoona Police Department as a Community Service Officer. This is a part-time position with flexible hours at approximately 25 hours per week.

Applicant must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Pass a pre-employment background investigation
  • Pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice - preferred

Wage: $18.23/hour

Program Instructor

Parks & Recreation

A Program Instructor will assist in the implementation of safe and enjoyable youth recreation programs. A qualified candidate will have knowledge of programs, be able to instruct participants in skills and drills and have the ability to setup and take down equipment before and after practices.

River Prairie Park Attendant

The River Prairie Park Attendant position will be based on park grounds. This position will be responsible for some park maintenance such as checking/changing garbage's, pavilion rental supervision and assuring cleanliness of the park.

Seasonal Parks Maintenance Gardener

The City of Altoona invites applications from qualified individuals to join its seasonal parks garden maintenance team.  Although the position description includes a wide variety of tasks and desired skills, this position will be dedicated primarily to ongoing garden maintenance activities in River Prairie.
